My fashion inspiration comes from many different places. I do always love Blair Waldorf’s style from Gossip Girl.
What does style mean to you?
Style is a form of self-expression. I think style can showcase one’s personality.
Any fashion rules when putting your clothes together?
I wouldn’t necessarily say I have rules when it comes to putting my clothing together, but there are definitely certain pieces I prefer styled a certain way. For example, I wear mini skirts often, and I almost always like tucking my shirts into them as I feel this accentuates my slim waist and overall gives me a longer appearance.
Any current fashion obsessions?
My current fashion obsession has been mules. I love this shoe style for spring.
Any specific brand you always go to for petite clothing?
I wear a lot of clothing by the brand TopShop. For the most part, most of their clothing fits me really well and is reasonably priced. I also love Free People as well and buy most of my jeans there because they run on the smaller side.
Staple clothing item
A jean jacket. I purchased a really nice and fitted one from J. Crew and I find myself always grabbing it when I’m out and about. It goes with everything!
Being petite, are there specific alterations you frequently find yourself making to your clothes in order to make them fit or look better?
For me, jeans usually need to be hemmed since I am short. Sometimes with skirts, I will have to take in the waistline because my waist is very slim.
In your view/experience, what’s the most common misconception about petite sized women?
I think the most common misconception about petite women is that we can’t wear certain clothes. I feel that every individual can make a certain style work for them in their own unique fashion.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Shopping is always a guilty pleasure for me, ha-ha. High-end lipstick is also a guilty pleasure!
Favourite thing to do when you’re not blogging
When I’m not blogging I enjoy reading and spending time with friends and family.
Greatest life advice you’ve ever received
Don’t compare yourself to others. You can’t be anyone other than yourself and that in itself is beautiful.
